Khalid Hariry
Khalid Hariry, 55, is a businessman and former MP of the National Union of Popular Forces [USFP].
After studying in a major French engineering school, Hariry became a computer engineer and the director of several software and new information technologies companies.
In the 1990's, Hariry came back to Morocco to become a political activist with the USFP, following a family tradition - as his father, Bouchaïb was one of the co-founder of the National Union of Popular Forces (Union Nationale des Forces Populaires, [UNFP]) and a MP in Morocco's first independent Parliament.
During the 1996 local elections, Hariry was elected at the Akhdim communal council in the El Jadida region. After a first unsuccessful attempt in 1997, he won the El Jadida-Azzemmour consistuency in September 2002.
